In an effort to maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the Judaism Forum, we have developed 10 commandments of our own. Please enjoy and comply. :-)
1. Thou Shall Use Appropriate Language. Foul language and obscene remarks are not allowed.
2. Thou Shall Respect Copyrights. Don't post material that other people created, unless it's in the public domain.
3. Thou Shall Not Advertise. Boards are not a venue for selling goods and services.
4. Thou Shall Not Make Personal Insults (including racist or anti-Semitic remarks). Personal insults, libel, slander, and inappropriate familiarity are not allowed. Stick to the topic being discussed and do not personally insult or attack other participants. Heated discussion of issues is acceptable. Flaming an individual is not. "Attack the message, not the messenger."
5. Thou Shall Show Tolerance. Tolerance of opposing views is required of all participants. The Internet is a place where people of all backgrounds and with a variety of beliefs come together to exchange information and ideas. You can expect to meet those with views both similar and different from your own views. Show tolerance for the beliefs of others even when they differ greatly from your own.

6. Thou Shall Not Be Confrontational. No baiting or provoking of other members in order to incite a negative response will be allowed. My 7 year old has turned provoking her 5 year old brother into an artform - so don't think you can pull the wool over my eyes on this one. :-)
7. Thou Shall Not Harass. Participants may not harass other forum participants within or outside of the forum. Harassment includes bothering others in chats or on the newsgroups, sending unsolicited email, making phone calls, and the like.
8. Thou Shall Not Proselytize. Proselytizing is not allowed in the forum. You can express your views, but do not try to change the beliefs of others.
9. Thou Shall Know Thy Limits. Content in the Judaism Forum is limited to .... Judaism (surprise, surprise <g>). Messages about Jesus and the New Testament should not be posted in this forum.
10. Thou Shall Not Advocate Violence. Messages that call for illegal action or advocate violence or death are not allowed.

We want the About.com Judaism Forum to be a place for quality exchange, an enjoyable and enriching experience, and a starting point for new friendships.
